Plymouth Grammar School Old Boys B 1 Tavistock A 1 With sickness, injury and holidays affecting availability, Tavistock new this game would be a challenge. PGSOBs are always a battling side, with plenty of youth and experience in their numbers. Tavistock, fielding only ten players due to a last- minute let down, were going to be in for a battle. The home side started brightly and ran the ball at Tavistock and put them under a lot of pressure. The home team were soon ahead following a well placed short corner. This was the time for the visitors to don their helmets and dig in and dogged defence kept the score line at just the one until half time. Tavistock had to sharpen the passes in the second half and play with a bit more flair to get themselves into the game. As the half wore on Tavistock became more dominant and with the lively Bellard pushing up in attack, the visitors started to dominate the game. Their reward came when Andrews netted his close range shot following some deft play from midfield to the D. The visitors were well on top and should have taken the lead following a great run again by Daniells. The end to end game ended with the speedy Bradley tearing down the wing a putting a perfect cross into the D which was narrowly missed. Man of the match for Tavistock A: Osborne for some great saves.
