CHEESE and wine were best sellers last Saturday as Devon Social Group raised money for a local charity.

MEND is a Devon based charity helping sufferers of ME or chronic fatigue syndrome.

The charity has provided support and advice for Devon Social Group founder Andrew Haglington since he was diagnosed with the illness ten years ago.

He said: ?I just wanted to say thanks for all that had been done for me ? and the best way I could see of doing that was to raise money for MEND.?

The cheese and wine evening at The Alexander Centre was a great success with plenty of local nibbles and the champagne flowing.

At the end of the evening MEND representative Audrey Adcock left with a cheque for £225.
