League Cup second leg

Okehampton Ladies 2

Exeter Central 8

OKEHAMPTON had a mammoth task to achieve, having conceded eight goals in the first leg. Although they battled well, they went 4-0 down in the first half.

The second half was a different game. Okehampton forward Michelle Vaughan, who had previously had shots denied by Central's keeper, found the back of the net and lifted Okehampton spirits.

Even though they knew that their chance of getting through this round were over, the ladies fought well. Good play from the centre of midfield by Hayley Vincent, Lynda Cann and Karen Fuell allowed Okehampton to strike again. Sarah Rew took advantage in the opposition's box, scoring a close range shot. Exeter Central continued to pressurise and scored four more goals.

Okehampton Ladies are now out of both the League and Devon cups, but they should take heart from the fact that these are the first goals anyone has scored against Exeter Central.
