I WAS heartened to be present at the funeral of Edmund Kaminski, to share the celebration for his life with such a large gathering of his family and friends.
We have indeed lost a remarkable man whose vigour and energy with good humour touched and enhanced the lives of us all in North Tavistock as well as the wider area.
Edmund Kaminski set an excellent example with his development conversion of original and traditional works buildings, bringing them into modern day comfortable use for residents whilst still maintaining the integrity and character of this historic part of Tavistock.
Edmund Kaminski has indeed set an excellent example for others who might wish to develop, whilst at the same time taking the care and trouble to protect the vision of one who truly loved his environment and appreciated the value of retaining it in as close to its original form as could be hoped, putting aesthetics before profit and supporting the conservation of the heart of this historic town.
