A PAIR of signed photos of Red Rum and Tommy Stack are just some of the famous lots being auctioned next month. The auction will take place after the Dartmoor Horse Ride for Autism Awareness and Paul's Son- Rise Programme for autism on Sunday, April 13 at 11am at the East Dart Hotel, Postbridge. Lots also include a framed signed colour photo of Aldaniti and Bob Champion, a framed signed print of Aldaniti 'over the last' and Bob Champion, and a framed signed print of 'Nashwan's' Derby finish with Willie. Supporting the event is Bob Champion who will also be taking part in the ride and will sign copies of his book 'Champions' after the auction. Landlord Francis Jasper of the Union Inn, Tavistock, will also be auctioning a number of horse racing items. All money raised will fund gymnastic equipment in Paul's playroom and help towards outreach sessions with the child facillitator from the US based institute. West Devon horse riders can take part to help raise awareness of the programme — a treatment Tavistock child Paul Lewis, six, is currently using. And due to the strong support received for the charity ride, Paul's father Allen has decided to dust off his spurs and get back in the saddle after a nine-year gap. The route will see riders do a circular ride from the East Dart Hotel. Anyone who would like to take part in the event should contact Allen on 01822 614335.
