MORWELLHAM QUAY will still be hosting this weekend's Tavistock Food Festival, it has been confirmed.

It's all systems go for the festival on Saturday and Sunday and the Classic Car Rally on Sunday.

Festival chairman Jeffrey Stackhouse said the committee was taken aback by the news of Devon County Council's decision but had been reassured by the Morwellham and Tamar Valley Trust who run the site that it would be operating as normal.

'They are looking forward to hosting our festival as planned,' he said.

'I hope that as many local residents and visitors will come to this year's event so that they can enjoy the many varied food and drink products on show as well as showing support for Morwellham Quay.'
