Bodmin Trophies Duchy division 3

St Stephen?s Borough 3

Lamerton 3

LAMERTON travelled to Saltash to take on the league leaders in an important match. In the end the honours were shared. Lamerton began the brighter and took the lead when Ian Collacott released Paul Cowling down the right. He squared the ball back for Zak Beesley to fire home from close range. Borough bounced back when an Andy Wright corner was headed back at the far post for Lee Manuell to score.

The second half saw the home side have the majority of possession and they put the Lamerton defence under great pressure. Fortunately, keeper and man of the match Pete Daniel was in tremendous form, pulling off crucial saves on three or four occasions.

The visitors were always dangerous on the break with Cowling coming close and Tony Jones putting in some good balls from the left wing.

Paul Breyley battled hard in midfield for Lamerton and Ian Collacott covered acres of ground down the right.

Lamerton battled hard for an important league point, leaving the league wide open with half a dozen teams in with a shout.

This Saturday away to Harlyn in the league, kick-off 2.30pm.
