THE Moorland Ladies Group of South Zeal is holding a coffee morning as part of the biggest fundraiser for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The coffee morning, part of the national fundraising event The World's Biggest Coffee Morning, will be held at the Victory Hall in South Zeal on Saturday, September 29 from 10am. The ladies are setting up a variety of stalls including cakes, toys, jewellery, and jams, as well as a raffle and white elephant.
The Moorland Ladies Group, formerly the WI, get together once a month to raise money for charity.
Group member Jacqueline Yeates said: 'We all know somebody who has benefitted form the wonderful work Macmillan do, and that's why we are supporting them by holding a coffee morning.
'Without support from Macmillan many people suffering from cancer would be left on their own.'
This will be the fourth year the Moorland Ladies Group has taken part in the national fundraiser, and they have raised over £2,000 for Macmillan.
Sian Harris, local fundraising manager for Macmillan, said: 'The Moorland Ladies always do a great job fundraising for us so it's great to see them doing another coffee morning this year.'
