BUCKLAND Monachorum's June Fair will be packed with fun for all the family to enjoy on Saturday, June 13.

Holsworthy Majorettes will be leading the grand fancy dress parade from the village hall to the fair at 1.30pm after which the event will open at 2pm.

There will be a tug-of -war challenge during the afternoon and teams wishing to take part can turn up on the day.

Dartmoor Hawkers Falconry will be displaying the skill of their birds, and there are will be a range of stalls and side shows, including an art display by the Buckland Art Group, a plant stall, home-made cake stall, second hand book stall, miniature train rides, hog roast, a barbecue, a gladiator challenge, face painting, a creche, and more.

Mr Showers will also have his popular circus workshop running all afternoon. Entrance to the fair will be free.

Following the fair, and by popular demand, there will be evening entertainment outside the pub and church, with a lamb roast and barbecue.

The fair raises money for local community groups and charities and raised more than £2,000 in 2008.
