THE third annual Teignton Fayre takes place in Drewsteignton Square this weekend.

Over the past three years, £9,500 has been donated to good causes in the area through the fayre.

The event should be an enjoyable evening for all the family, with side stalls to include a coconut shy, bouncy castle, bottle stalls, skittles, slippery pole, barbecue and more besides.

Proceedings get underway in the square this Saturday, June 5, from 6.30pm. Hatherleigh Brass Band will be playing throughout the evening, followed by a live band playing in the square, as well as a bar.

The Teignton Fayre committee held a duck race at Fingle Bridge on Easter Sunday, which raised approximately £900, and earlier in the year a promise auction in the village raised more than £2,000.

The nine Drewsteignton residents on the fayre committee work tirelessly to make the evening a success and thank everyone who contributes to the fundraising in whatever form.

The committee relies on volunteers to man the stalls, serve the barbecue and help with setting up and clearing away on the day. Organisers say they would also like to thank the residents of the village for their patience on the evening itself.
