AN all male fashion show is being held at Okehampton College tonight (Friday) to raise awareness of a suicide prevention charity and in memory of a teacher who died this year.
Eighteen young men from Year 10 and 11 are taking part in the show which starts at 7.30pm in the college’s Octagon building.
The show will be in memory of Ed Davis, a Tavistock resident, who took his own life in April, and to raise awareness of suicide.
John Lewis has donated five outfits for the occasion, Jonathan Hawkes in Exeter donated a couple of suits, along with donations from Children’s Hospice South West in Tavistock and Shoe King.
Okehampton College teacher and Mr Davis’ widow Harriet, who has helped organise the event, said this would be a social event, with singers and dancers from the area performing as well.
The event is free to attend but donations will be welcomed to a suicide prevention charity Zero Suicide Alliance. The Zero Suicide Alliance (ZSA) is a coalition of like-minded partners determined to work together and share best practice to help prevent suicide.
