STAFF were in the pink at Forthglade Foods in Winkleigh, as the company raised money for Breast Cancer Campaign last Friday.
Dressing up in pink clothing, staff took part in the 'Wear it Pink' day, organising a raffle, baking and selling cakes and biscuits, and giving donations for wearing pink clothing to work.
Wear it Pink Day is the charity's biggest fundraising event of the year. This year's theme was superheroes, and people across Britain dressed up in pink on October 26 to raise money to help fund research into the disease.
The team at Forthglade's efforts raised around £300 for the charity.
The day was a particularly cheerful one for staff, as it is just over 12 months since the company was saved from going into administration.
Since then the company has gone from strength to strength, increasing the workforce to 60 employees and the business' turnover by 18%. They also received a Pets Choice Suppliers Award from Pets at Home recently to recognise the company's hard work to improve product quality and customer service over the last year.
Joint managing director Chris Brooking said: 'It has been a cracking twelve months for the company, with the business securing its position and growing the business by 18%.
'We have made enough money to reinvest in the business and safeguard its future, and the jobs of our 60 employees.
'There aren't too many companies around, especially in the Okehampton area, who can say that they have seen that sort of growth in the last year or so. It has been a difficult time for everyone, so to see ourselves now doing so well following a difficult period is great.
'Days like today are good for morale for a small company like ourselves, and the team spirit among our staff here is obvious. Hopefully we can go forward, stabilise the business even further and keep growing.'
