AT the end of Round 16 of the Devon County Winter League, Okehampton Smallbore Club?s Championship is virtually decided, after a poor round from Bernard Rendle effectively dropped him out of contention, leaving the way clear for Paul Batten to go on and take the title with only two rounds remaining.
In round 16, two club members scored ?possibles?, Graham Spier and Glenn Farley, both in the A team, despite which the team lost by two points to Kitto. Only the B and C teams won their round 16 matches.

Okehampton E: Richard Jefferies 92, Roger Denton 87, Chris Short 82, Jason Ponsford 78, Sean Millership 76. Total 415, lost to Exeter School B 437.
In the North Devon League, the A team lost its round 13 match and the B team won, with Glenn Farley top-scoring for the A team with 99.

The club also has several entries in the individual leagues, and after eight of the ten rounds, the best results have been achieved by Ivan Trickey ? in the .22 rifle league ? and Alan Shelley and Chris Ricketts ? in the 20-yard air pistol league.
Ivan leads division 3 with 19 points from his eight matches, two clear of the shooter in second place, and Alan and Chris and fighting it out at the top of division 3 in the pistol league ? both have 17 points and are separated by just ten match points, so all is still to play for.
