Tavistock Ladies travelled to premiership team Bideford today for the second round of the Devon County Cup, returning home exhausted with an unfortunate defeat.

It was a competitive start as Bideford took an early lead, however, Tavistock certainly placed the home team under pressure and a goal each from Blowey and Jones boosted Tavistock's score, leaving Bideford with a goal advantage at half-time.

The second half opened up a bigger lead for Bideford, which took its toll on the visitors, who were performing with a variation to their usual formation due to injuries and sickness.

That said the ladies played their traditional stronger second half and created a number of attacking moves; they also defended well and prevented many attempts at goal. Credit was given to the ability of Bideford's striker Alice Rivans for sealing their victory and scoring four of her side's goals.

Tavistock's keeper Zoe Stock was on top of her game, keeping the score at a respectable level in an excellent game to watch.
