A YOUNG Okehampton athlete finished second at the recent Devon Schools combined events and the Devon County multi events championships held in Exeter.
Alex McGregor, a pupil at Okehampton College, came second in what amounts to the pentathlon for his age range, amassing a total of 2,000 points across the five events. The five events the athletes tackled were: long jump, high jump, shot, 80m hurdles and 800 metres.
Following his success, Alex is expected to go forward to represent Devon at the South West championships.
