SEVEN rare birds were last month spotted during a birdwatching cruise in the Tamar Valley area. Bruce Taggart, who organised the trip, saw the Dutch Spoonbills and noticed that two of the birds were sporting leg flags. When Bruce checked on the internet he found yellow leg flags indicated the birds were Dutch. Bruce said: ?It?s really interesting that these birds have come from breeding colonies 100 km apart, yet have homed in on the River Lynher as a wintering site.?
