A MAN who injured his leg at the 16th hole on Ashbury Golf Course on Saturday was taken to hospital by air ambulance — the second visit to Okehampton in three hours for the emergency service.

The ambulance arrived just before 5pm to take the golfer to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital at Wonford.

Three hours earlier the ambulance took a young girl, believed to have been suffering convulsions, to the same hospital. The service received a call to a residential address in Station Road, Okehampton and landed in the nearest safe place, which was Simmons Park, five minutes later.
