MEAVY based Dartmoor Border Morris has organised a day for all the family and to help raise funds for a local charity.

An ‘Afternoon Beer Dance’ will be held at the Burrator Inn, in Dousland, from noon on Saturday, July 14.

The group, which started in 2001, is a supporter of the Plymouth based Jeremiah’s Journey charity and the event on July 14 is no exception. The Morris dancers will be on hand during the day to teach dance moves and to see if any budding musicians want to join in a ‘Morris music session’, as well as setting up a mini-bar in the beer garden to raise funds for the charity.

Jeremiah’s Journey charity said that if Dartmoor Border Morris raises £450 by mid September, then one of its members will be allowed to take part in a tandem parachute jump, in Morris kit.

The team has expressed thanks to the staff at the Burrator Inn and Dartmoor Brewery for helping Dartmoor Border Morris fulfil Jeremiah`’s Journey fundraising scheme.
