WITH only three months to go until the start of switchover in the West Country, Digital UK is now urging people to be a good neighbour, help an elderly friend or relative to switch to digital by installing equipment and helping them to set it up – especially if they're anxious about what to do.
Digital boxes cost around £20 so we would encourage you to think about this as a great present for someone special this year, providing them with more choice in channels and better quality viewing.
There are other ways to get digital television too; either through a satellite dish, cable television or broadband – the choice is yours. Freesat delivers digital TV channels through a satellite dish without having to pay a subscription.
The main thing is whatever equipment you're buying: make sure it has the 'digital tick' logo which means it will work after switchover – your local retailer can give you plenty of advice.
