A ROADSHOW is bringing community services from more than 25 different organisations to the heart of Tavistock this Saturday.

The West Devon Connect roadshow is coming to Bedford Square between 10am and 1.30pm on Saturday, September 1.

The event, co-ordinated by West Devon Borough Council, is free and open to all.

Representatives from a range of public sector organisations, charities and not-for-profit groups will be setting up stalls in Bedford Square to provide advice and information.

People will also be able put their driving skills to the test in a simulator vehicle and see three road safety vehicles belonging to the fire and rescue service.

Organisations taking part in the Tavistock Community Morning include Devon Carers, Dartmoor National Park Authority, Tavistock Community Sports Centre and Meadowlands, Community Voluntary Service and South West Water.

West Devon Borough Council will be represented at the community morning with staff from the recycling and waste team, environmental health and the community safety partnership.

Benefits advisors from the borough council will also be on hand to provide information on the changes to council tax benefit, coming in next April.

There is even the chance to win a luxury hamper by completing the Getting to Know You survey aimed at helping the borough council improve its services.

People attending the community morning will also be able to enjoy the arts market, which is being held on the same day at Bank Square.

The market showcases more than 20 local and regional artists who display their works for sale and give live demonstrations.
