THE Museum of Dartmoor Life has a packed schedule ahead, taking part in three events next week and the upcoming Edwardian Evening.
The first is the annual meeting of the Dartmoor Museum Association on Thursday November 24. Friends subscriptions can be collected at the meeting, which will run until March 31 2013. There will be the opportunity to socialise after the meeting, which takes place in the museum from 2.30pm.
On Friday November 25, there will be a joint fundraiser organised by the museum and the North Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team, with a virtual horse race night at the White Hart Hotel.
Doors open at 7pm, with the first race under starter's orders at 7.30pm. Tickets at £8 include a sausage and mash supper, with a vegetarian option. They can be purchased at the museum, by calling 01837 52295, or e-mailing [email protected]">[email protected]
The museum will then play host to a special arts and crafts event on Saturday November 26.
A team of four gifted craftspeople will be on hand to help people make unique Christmas decorations and presents.
The workshop runs from 11am to 4pm, with the £6 entry fee to include drinks and all decorations and presents you make. Spaces are limited so please call the museum to book a place.
On Edwardian Evening on Thursday December 8, Father Christmas will pay a visit to the museum, taking visits from children in his grotto from 5.45pm.
For more details on any of the events, please call the museum on 01837 52295.
