EXETER Chiefs rugby prospect Richard Bolt came off the bench last week to help England Under 19s seal third place in the IRB U19 World Championship. England?s youngsters finished level with their French counterparts 12-12 in the third place play off in Dubai, but won on try count. Number 9 Richard replaced London Wasps? Joseph Simpson just before half-time and was instrumental in helping England to dominate the French side. The game was played in intense heat in front of a vociferous 3,000 strong crowd last Friday, April 21. This was the fifth game of the competition for the English youngsters. They got off to a shaky start in their opening game, going down by a single point to Ireland, but following victories over Argentina and South Africa they progressed to the semi-finals where the mighty All Blacks of New Zealand proved too strong. Richard comes from North Tawton and was a former pupil at Okehampton College.
