THERE is a rare opportunity to catch female acoustic act Invocal live on Saturday, July 30 when they play the Brentor Village Hall. The band is led by guitarist and songwriter Rosie Swayne , a former pupil at Mary Tavy and Brentor CP then Tavistock College. Invocal is well known on the UK acoustic scene with their unique songs delivered by an unusual line up of three vocals a guitar, a clarinet and a cello. They will be travelling to Devon straight from performance at the world renowned Cambridge Folk Festival. The girls have toured the UK and the Republic of Ireland, recruiting avid fans everywhere they play. Their website has clocked up more than 70, 000 hits since it was built last year. They have received rave reviews from national publications such as the NME and Diva magazine. The band is based in Northampton but, from the family home in Horndon, Rosie says: ?I can?t wait to play locally again - I wish we could play in Devon more frequently . . .? They will be supported by fellow acoustic musicians Robert Bray and Sara Spade who perform all over the UK and in Germany to great acclaim. The event at The Brentor Village Hall starts at 7.30pm.
