A BELSTONE garden will open its doors to the public in aid of the Devon Air Ambulance Trust under their Welcome Gardens scheme.
The garden, which is set above the Taw Valley, facing Cosdon Beacon, is in flower with magnolias, camellias and early rhododendrons, underplanted with erythroniums, primroses, hellebores and daffodils.
Each year it costs approximately £4-million to keep the two Devon Air Ambulances airborne — with every penny coming from donations and fundraising from the community, businesses and friends in Devon.
The charity is independent of government funding and is not eligible for lottery funding.
The Welcome Gardens scheme is one of the many fundraising activities for the trust.
Everyone is welcome to come along to the event and enjoy the gardens, as well as cream teas which will be on offer. Entry is £3 for adults and free to children.
The open garden will be held on Sunday, April 25 from 2.30pm until 5.30pm at Andrew's Corner, Skaigh Lane, Belstone.
