OKEHAMPTON Rotary Club is embarking on a time capsule project to reflect life in the town in 2012.

The club is organising the project to coincide with the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, and is looking for suggestions from the community as to what should go into the capsule, which is 2ft long and 8ins deep.

Rotary president Sarah Watts said: 'It will be very interesting for people to look back in, perhaps, 50 or 100 years' time, and actually see what life was like in 2012. We have already had many suggestions from club members and the college, but we feel everybody should have their say as to what items could be included.

'We have also had a number of suggestions of where this capsule could be buried or stored, but we are always open to more suggestions. The wider group we get suggestions from will ensure we have an accurate picture of our town as it is this year.'
