MORE than 100 people surprised Jo Davey and helped her celebrate her 20 years' service with Edgemoor Nursery School recently at St Paul's Church Hall in Yelverton.
Jo has played a major part in educating the pre-school children of the Yelverton area and has now touched the lives of more than a thousand people.
In attendance were lots of parents and children from the 20 years Jo has worked at Edgemoor Nursery, as well as the nursery founders Hilary and Sam Woollard who first employed Jo, along with past and present staff. Apart from the odd tear, teas, coffees and many cakes were consumed.
Owner Debbie Parriss presented Jo with a bouquet of flowers and a voucher for a one night's dinner, bed and breakfast stay at Bovey Castle.
Thanks were expressed to the staff Helen Marshall, Charlotte Hicks, Lucy Mulliner, Charlotte Newport, Sam Paget and Abbey Best for their contributions, to Tracey Coupland for getting Jo to the church on time, Katie Parker for running the kitchen and everyone else that helped to make Miss Jo's day unforgettable.
