TAVISTOCK College held a successful open evening last week, which saw current students talk about life in the sixth form.
The event, held by students for students, demonstrated the wide range of subjects and activities the college has to offer those choosing further education.
More than 300 prospective students and their parents attended, and took part in the various demonstrations held throughout the evening. These included active Zumba sessions as well as reports from the recent exchange visit with Japan.
Principal Helen Salmon said: 'The evening was a big success and we have had a positive response from all those who attended. It is important for students to have pride in their studies as well as where they choose to learn, this is why we felt it was important for current students to lead the evening.
'We provide a very wide range of courses and extra-curricular activities to ensure that all students are able to perform to their full potential and have fun at the same time. Students and teachers have worked hard to make Tavistock College the success it is, and they were all proud to show why it is a great place to learn.'
The next event to take place at Tavistock College is a performance of the play 'Oh What a Lovely War'. It will be performed in the main hall today and tomorrow (Thursday and Friday) at 7.30pm, and Saturday December 8 at 5.30pm. Please contact the school for further details.
