A MARY Tavy man has raised a splendid £720 for charity from a curry and quiz night held at The Elephant's Nest Inn recently.

Ben Neale is running in this year's London Marathon and has already raised £300 for his chosen charity, the British Heart Foundation, by a ten-mile cross country run across Dartmoor, accompanied by a team of 30 riders on horseback.

The Elephant's Nest, where Ben can be seen working behind the bar, kindly donated the food for the curry night, and Dartmoor Brewery, St Austell Brewery and Otter Brewery donated raffle prizes.
