TORRINGTON Police Amateur Boxing Club has expressed its gratitude to Torridge District Council after receiving £3,000 of grant funding.
The club has used the grant to buy new equipment and kit for its members.
The money comes from the council's new Youth Initiative Budget, a £30,000 fund set up to help young people in Torridge make a difference to their own lives and to the community around them.
Heath Pettifer, TPABC secretary, said: 'This grant has just been fantastic for us. We only started up as a club earlier this year, and we've got boys and girls from seven years upwards all wanting to train with us. I can't thank Torridge enough for their support with this funding.'
Funding of up to £3,000 per application is still available for a variety of youth projects including training, helping with a voluntary service, or purchase of new equipment for a youth or sports club.
