NEW facilities at a West Devon primary school were formally opened on Friday.
Doing the opening honours at Lifton primary was local businesswoman Lindsey Hedges from Glenvale Garden Nursery.
The project to provide the school with new cloakrooms and toilets for the youngest pupils began on site in July.
The work was carried out on time and to a high standard by contractors Morgan Sindall and the project was funded jointly by the school and Devon County Council.
The warm, bright, colourful amenities also include a medical room where all the inevitable little bumps and grazes can be treated in a purpose-built environment.
Headteacher Mrs Kui Holmes said: 'We are absolutely delighted that the children now have more space and great modern facilities.
'Our old toilets were in a very poor condition and this is the culmination of four years of work by the governors, with the help of the Lifton School Council and support from local councillors, to ensure the complete renovation of all the cloakroom facilities at the school.
'We are most grateful to everyone involved in the completion of such a successful project.'
