MILTON Abbot Primary School held the official opening of its new trim trail, playground markings and forest school area recently.

It was a community day, in conjunction with the 'Get Your Boots On' project, which was a lottery funded project.

Mr Stacey, and his children William and Olivia, who attend Milton Abbot School, cut a pink ribbon to officially open the new play area and equipment. This was in memory of their loving wife and mummy Amanda Stacey who sadly passed away over Easter.

Amanda dedicated so much of her own time to developing and improving the school grounds and much more! She had a big input into this project alongside Miss Simmons, the early years, PE and forest school Leader.

The school is thankful to Michelle Roberts from Arena Schools who provided children with a variety of forest school activities including:  stick ladies or men, necklaces along with building a campfire to toast marshmallows!

Thanks were expressed to Peter Smith and his team of children for demonstrating Brit Spirit Martial Arts. The children from Milton Abbot School enjoyed having a go too! They are now really looking forward to joining the after school club he will be running at Milton Abbot School in September.

The school also paid tribute to all of the parents, PTFA members, children, families, governors and staff from the community for their support to make this event a memorable day.

'A place of happiness and learning for all' was how the school described it.
