THE carnival came to Chagford on Saturday, with a day of fantastic free entertainment for the community.

A day of activities in the square catered for the whole ­family, with live music, a performance of songs from Disney's Beauty and the Beast by children and young people from Chagford, and children's entertainer the Amazing Hat McKool.

Attention turned from the square to the procession in the afternoon, with the on-foot procession working its way from the school field through the town. The day's events finished with music in the square from the Fireblockers.
