A MINIATURE painting of Tavistock by a local artist has won an award at a forthcoming exhibition of miniature painters. The painting, by Ian Pethers, of Gunnislake, depicts West Street reflected in the rear window of Bryants? estate car. It won the award for the most unusual painting in the exhibition of the Hilliard Society of miniature painters. Ian Pethers, who is celebrating 40 years of painting, will receive his award from the society at its annual meeting on June 16. The exhibition will be held at Wells Town Hall from June 17 to 23 and special guest Rolf Harris will have a private view. Ian?s painting can be seen at Mayflower Galleries in West Street, Tavistock.
