OKEHAMPTON Library is offering people the chance to learn new craft skills over the next two weeks.
Under the expert guidance of a local tutor Mary Morse, people can enjoy an afternoon demonstration and workshop on 'Mod Podge', a new craft from the Continent combining decoupage, crackle glazing and antiqueing.
The technique can be used to produce cards, trays, cover boxes, on fabric and many other items.
At this workshop everybody will be able to make something to take home as well as learning new techniques and ideas for producing many other items.
The Mod Podge afternoon will be on March 8 from 1.30pm to 3.30pm at Okehampton Library and tickets are available in advance priced £3 to include materials.
The following week on March 15 there will be a pewter demonstration, again by Mary Morse, who will show people how to produce, quite simply, wonderful effects on pewter for jewellery, coasters, boxes and so on.
Tickets for this demonstration are £2 and there will be a chance to have a go — any materials used to be paid for on the day.
The session is from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. For further information or tickets for these two library events call 01837 52805.
