TUESDAY was Pancake Day and children around West Devon — and adults — indulged in the traditional sweet treats.

In Okehampton, the day was celebrated at the weekend with a pancake race in Red Lion Yard, organised by the town's chamber of trade and supported by Boomerang and the town's twinning group.

In Walkhampton, the children from Lady Modiford's School raced with cardboard 'pancakes' through the village centre, while pupils at Whitchurch Primary School staged house races.
