WALKHAMPTON welcomed a very special guest last month, as Father Christmas came roaring into the village on a glistening trailer pulled by a quad bike.
He was taken to his magic grotto in the village hall, from where he distributed gifts to the children.
Fairy lights and stalls selling everything from Christmas garlands to cakes made for a wonderful atmosphere. The warming scent of mulled wine and mince pies, and the sound of Christmas carols filled the air.
There were excellent prizes up for grabs in the raffle, including the top one of a whole lamb ready for the freezer.
Proceeds from the event went towards the fund for a community play park for Walkhampton.
