HATHERLEIGH continued their climb up the table with another good win against a side who made them work hard.
Playing some exciting football in the first half the home side soon took the lead with a well worked goal through Stuart Dymond. Following good work down the right Martin Heard supplied the cross for Dymond to head home from just inside the box.
Hatherleigh continued to create chances and after 20 minutes scored their second with a move that went from one end to the other. John Hayman starting it with a long throw to Dymond, who took it to halfway and passed to Nathaniel Davey. He returned it to Dymond who ran into the box to fire the ball home past the keeper.
The second half saw the visitors bring the game to Hatherleigh more, and with the pitch getting heavier the match opened up. Chances fell at both ends, Hatherleigh having the best of them. Gary Knight, in particular, was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet.
Hatherleigh were resolute in defence and held on comfortably for a well deserved win.
Hatherleigh are at home again this week when they entertain Sidmouth Town.
