SINGER Linda Evans and jazz guitarist Fraser Weekes have combined their talents as Colla Voce to produce a splendid CD called 'If Dreams Come True'.
Linda, who lives in Gunnislake, has been busy concentrating on her singing after she and husband Tony closed their Maestros Music shop in Tavistock 12 months ago to concentrate on their Plymouth business.
'The songs on the CD are the most requested songs that we have performed — and they are also some of our favourites,' said Linda.
'If you like the music of Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald and Peggy Lee this is for you because it is easy listening with a swing.'
Linda said she and Fraser decided to get together because of their mutual love of the American songbook which showcases such great jazz-based composers as Gershwin and Cole Porter.
Fraser is no stranger to West Devon audiences, having been the guitarist with the Mercer Evans Big Band — jazz is his forte and he is always in demand to play when visiting musicians come to the area.
Linda and Fraser are launching their CD at the Function Suite of the Cross House, Metherell near Callington on Saturday, September 22 from 8.30am to 11pm — and everyone is welcome.
On this occasion they will be joined on stage by a lot of musical friends who will be augmenting the duo on a variety of instruments.
