Tavistock Ladies 2nd XI 3
Pymouth Uni 2nd XI 3
UNIVERSITY travelled to Tavistock for a brilliant game of hockey. Both teams battled hard for possession and Tavistock showed strong play from Olivia Eadie of the right and teamwork through forwards Gaynor Pollard, Sarah Barratt and Robynne Honey.
University broke free to put them in the lead, but Tavistock remained strong and started to threaten. After many attempts on goal, University could not stop Pollard from putting Tavistock back in the game.
Tavistock began to dominate with accurate linking, using both sides of the pitch to push the ball up again. Honey triumphantly pushed it past the keeper to put Tavistock in the lead.
University continued to battle and after many clearances from the defence of Sarah Guy and Nell Trotter they struck again to make the score even.
In the second half Tavistock threatened again with skilfull play from Barratt who provided Honey another ball to score again.
With the final whistle not far off, University launched a powerful attack and brought the score even again.
Both teams battled on and Tavistock were unluckily denied the glory of a golden goal to make them winners.
Player of the match: Olivia Eadie.
