A REUNION for Tavistock School is being planned for Saturday, May 16 — and all former pupils and staff are being invited to attend and reminisce on the good old days.

The event has been organised by the Tavistock School Reunion Association (TSRA) and is open to all who left the school/college ten years ago, or more, and their partners.

The association started around three decades ago with a small group of people meeting in the Bedford Hotel trying to organise a reunion for those who had left school 25 years ago.

A committee was then formed to organise the reunions and it now meets four times a year — the committee event started to produce a magazine called The Phoenix filled with stories and photos of days at the school.

Liz Cole, committee member of the association, said: 'It is a chance for people to meet up with old friends who they may not have seen for many years and to make new friends.

'We've had people come from far and wide — Scotland, Norfolk, Chile, Canada, Australia — and they still keep in touch.

'This year we want as many people as possible. We cater for all ages and it would be nice to see some more local people there at the reunion on May 16.'

People who attend are invited to bring any photos or other memorabilia that they would like displayed on the notice board.

A small fee is being asked to cover the costs of the event, which is being held at Gallery 26 at the Bedford Hotel from 7pm. For more information visit the association's Facebook page by searching Tavistock School Reunion Association or call 01822 614092.
