THIRTY toddlers and babies, with 20 parents, grandparents and carers, helped staff from Tavistock Area Children's Centre celebrate the 100th session of the Princetown 'Drop-In'.
The drop-in session initially met in the Princetown pavilions but moved to the newly opened village centre last summer.
During last year's summer holidays Tavistock Area Children's Centre held sessions in the Princetown Pre-school room but they are now held in the 'small hall' at the village centre for 'free play', craft activities and a healthy snack every Tuesday between 10am and noon.
As with all Tavistock Area Children's Centre sessions, they are free and open to all families and carers with children aged 0 to 5.
The '100th' party also included children and staff from the pre-school who were invited to join the drop-in 'regulars'.
Everyone joined in a singing, dancing and story session provided by Jo from 'The Musical Farmyard' before cutting a '100' cake and enjoying snacks and drinks.
Tavistock Area Children's Centre staff, Maggi Calvert, Abby Sproats and volunteer Caroline Marks are enjoying getting out into the villages in the large catchment area, in some places working alongside other groups such as pre-schools or baby and toddler groups.
They bring the toys and resources in their van, set up a play or information session, which now includes baby weighing and measuring facilities, and support families and carers who may find it difficult to access other services'.
