MORE than one hundred works of the finest quality embroidery, quilts and lace will be coming to the National Trust?s Buckland Abbey, near Yelverton, next week to make a ?Celebration in Stitch?. The pieces from local guilds, groups and schools will be exhibited through the Abbey and outbuildings from Friday September 7 to Wednesday September 12, 10.30am until 5pm. Visitor services manager, Jonathan Cummins, said: ?This will be the third bi-annual exhibition held at the Abbey following success in 2003 and 2005 and we?re looking forward to a busy week. Tavistock Guild of Embroiderers, Tor Lace and the Young Embroiderers will be exhibiting along with Mary Tavy School and many individuals too.? Various exhibits ranging from evening bags to cushions and bedspreads will be on sale to the public with something to suit every pocket. There will be trade stands and demonstrations from exhibitors too. Buckland Abbey, restaurant, shop, gardens, estate and craft workshops is open every day (except Thursdays) until Sunday November 4, from 10.30am to 5.30pm. For more information phone 01822 853607.
