I WOULD like to say: thank you, thank you to everyone who came along, played and sang beautiful music, helped out and ate cake at my fundraising event for Nepal on Friday March 12 in Kingdon House. And also to the farmers? market and the cheese shop who where generous in discounts for ingredients.

The event was a brilliant success thanks to all of you, and raised £400! This money is going to the Nepal Foundation as I have raised over my target, therefore all further money is going towards the charities I will be volunteering with in Nepal starting on March 28 - if you had not heard already I will be working for three mounts in an orphanage and with the Nepal Foundation. If you would like any further information my email address is:

MAY I through your paper thank those who contributed to the Daffodil Day collection on Saturday March 13.

Thanks to them, to the collectors, to Safeway supermarket for permission for the collection point within the store and also to the Times for some advance publicity, the splendid total realised was just over £668.

Marie Curie Cancer Care is the UK?s largest cancer care charity and money raised goes towards nursing terminally ill cancer patients in the comfort of their own homes, providing respite care for their carers and generally focuses on procuring the best quality of life for cancer sufferers.

WE write to thank everyone who visited Roland Bailey Gardens during December to see our Christmas light display and gave kind donations for the Derriford Hospital Kidney unit. The total donations collected were £875.78 which have been paid over to the Friends of Derriford Hospital Kidney Unit.

This charity was chosen as our dad, John Palmer, has made regular visits to the kidney unit over recent years. But more recently he was rushed into Derriford Hospital and spent most of the two weeks of his stay on Carey ward in the kidney unit.

We would like to thank Dr Eggleton of the Wharfside Surgery and the ambulance crew for their prompt and efficient response, and Dr Rowe, the staff of Carey ward and A & E at Derriford. Also all the well wishers who phoned and visited.
