POLICE want the public’s help following a high value burglary at the Texaco Garage on Plymouth Road, Tavistock on Thursday, November 16.

Officers have released these CCTV pictures (right) of the people they would like to talk to in connection with the incident.

At approximately 3am, two men entered the garage after smashing the window of the front door. The thieves were only in the garage for a short amount of time, but managed to steal a substantial amount of tobacco and cigarettes, worth approximately £2,000.

The premises was closed while scenes of crime officers checked the area.

Police said they were looking for a white vehicle which would have been driving around Tavistock at 3am.

DS Bev Havis said the theft was a ‘real loss’ to the owners of the privately owned business: ‘This is a real loss to Mr and Mrs Haskins who own this garage and have owned the business for 40 years. It is a substantial amount [stolen] and has hit them hard. Anyone with information should contact the numbers below quoting the crime number CR/099747/17.
