POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a road traffic collision last Saturday (January 13) saw a woman left injured and alone in her vehicle late at night.

A woman was driving on the B3257 from Bere Alston to Gulworthy at 8.30pm when her car was in collision with a black type pick-up vehicle which did not stop.

PC Tracey Swift said: ‘The woman was left on her own at night time in a rural location and she could have been seriously hurt but the driver [of the pick-up vehicle] just made-off. There was no way that the driver would not have known about this.’

Fortunately the woman had a phone and was able to phone her partner to get help, said police.
