A MAN from Okehampton has admitted selling heroin to an undercover police officer during a sting operation in the centre of Exeter.
John Williams, aged 46, of Upcott Hill, pleaded guilty to two counts of supplying a class A drug at Exeter on August 17 and 22 last year.
Judge David Evans adjourned the case for a probation report and assessment for drug rehabilitation.
Defence barrister Mr Lee Bremridge said Williams is currently on a prescription for a heroin substitute drug and may be suitable for a rehabilitation order. Mr Brian Fitzherbert, prosecuting, said it is accepted that Williams played a lesser role as the delivery man for a so-called County Line drugs supply chain.
The undercover officers had ordered drugs over a phone line, known as a County Line, and been directed to an alley in the centre of Exeter where one man took their money and Williams supplied the drugs.
