Police are appealing for information after a man was stabbed on the Tavistock Viaduct late on Wednesday night.

The victim was confronted by a man while walking his dog along the viaduct at around 11.45pm on August 5.

He had entered the viaduct from the Glanville Road direction.

When the victim’s dog barked at the suspect, the suspect stabbed the victim with an unknown implement.

The victim was taken to hospital to be treated for a wound to the right side of his body. The injury is not life-threatening.

A police spokesperson said: “Enquiries have been ongoing to try and identify the suspect and we are now appealing to anyone in the area between 11pm and midnight who may have witnessed the assault, or who saw a man matching the below description, to get in touch.

“The suspect is described as a white male, mid 30s, of medium build, around 5ft 10ins tall, with dark hair and clean shaven. He was wearing a grey hooded top, black joggers, white trainers and possibly a baseball cap beneath the hood.
