CRIMINAL damage to a parish call, dogs out of control and intentional scratching of vehicles feature in this week’s Tavistock area crimes.
• The roof of the parish hall in Bere Alston was criminally damaged between September 7 and September 8. A tyre was thrown on the roof of the hall, causing some damage. CR/077855/17.
• Between September 7 and September 8, further criminal damage was caused to the Bere Alston Parish Hall. A BB gun pellet was shot at the hall and broke one of its windows. CR/077857/17.
• A gun shop in Tavistock was broken in to on September 10. The store, All About Country on Russell Street, had its window smashed before the offender gained entry and stole items.
Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward in connection with the burglary. CR/077526/17.
• Criminal damage was caused to four parked cars on Trelawny Road in Tavistock between 5pm on Sunday, September 10 and 2pm the following day.
A sharp object was used to slash the tyres, causing more than £1,200 worth of damage. CR/077990/17.
• A dog was reported to be out control in Meavy Bourne of Tuesday, September 12.
The border collie, who was not on a lead, was reported to be barking and out of control. The dog followed some pedestrians while barking and growling. CR/078370/17.
• A man stole a packet of cigarettes costing £7.35 from Tavistock’s Post Office on Thursday, September 14 between 10.14am and 10.17am. The man asked for cigarettes behind the counter before leaving the store without paying. CR/078943/17.
• A dog chased a sheep at Burrator Reservoir on September 4. The owner of the dog signed a voluntary control order for the dog this week. The order means that the dog will not be allowed off of its lead in public. CR/076373/17.
• A white Citroen has been found burnt out after it was stolen from Mount Tavy Road, Tavistock, some time between 4pm on Sunday, September 3 and 5.15am on Wednesday, September 6.
The car was found burned out on the B3212 near Moretonhampstead. CR/079623/17.
• TWO doors of a grey Land Rover parked on Drake Road in Tavistock were intentionally scratched some time between 8.30am on September 15 and 8am on September 16. CR/079626/17.
