AN attempted burglary at Morrisons petrol station and a theft of over 20 mobile phones feature in this week’s crime page #newsfromtheblues

• POLICE are appealing for information to an attempted burglary at Morrisons Petrol Station, Tavistock, on August 23.

A wheelbarrow full of concrete was used to smash the front door of the petrol station at 1.45am. The doors were broken but they did not steal anything as police believe they were disturbed.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 and quote crime reference number CR/071835/17.

• Go Mobile on Duke Street, Tavistock was accessed by someone climbing up scaffolding outside the property and entering through an open upstairs window. Approximately 26 mobile phones were stolen between 5.30pm on August 23 and 9.30am on August 24. Police asked that if anyone is offered cheap mobile phones or if anyone sees people climbing the scaffolding to contact them on 101. CR/072083/17.

• A purse was stolen from a handbag which was in a shopping trolley in Lidl, Tavistock, between 10am and 11am on August 19. CR/070040/17.

• An orange Peugeot 208 had its roof and bumper damaged while parked on Station Road, Lifton, on August 20, before 9am. CR/070709/17.

• A gate was removed from its hinges, and a lock and chain stolen, from a field in Green Lane, Yelverton, between August 19 and August 20. CR/071046/17.
