ALCOHOL related anti-social behaviour is on the increase around West Devon and police are receiving regular calls regarding large gatherings of teenagers and those in their early 20s causing noise, littering and being abusive to local residents.
Tavistock PCSO Kevin Williams said: ‘Parents are asked to ensure they know where their children are, particularly overnight, as many groups are gathering until 2am.
‘The mix of alcohol and teenagers seldom ends well and residents have had to endure youths and young adults urinating against fences and being verbally abused when they attempt to reason with them.
‘The town council is noticing a large increase in bottles being smashed around the park area, with teams spending hours clearing up the debris on a daily basis.
‘If you witness large groups of young people gathering in the area and drink or drugs are being consumed, please call us.’
